Job Title: Solicitor Location: Bristol Salary: £Dependent On Experience Hours worked: Flexible to suit / as agreed to a maximum of 16 hours per week. Any additional hours as agreed. Objectives To assist and contribute as a lawyer in the Family Team. To provide a quick efficient and accurate service to clients in accordance with the BDS client charter. Targets To achieve your time recording targets as agreed with your Team Manager and shown on your individual financial target sheet and to contribute to the Team's annual fee income target. Key Responsibilities Caseload To conduct casework in an efficient, prompt and responsible manner, striving to achieve the standards of the client charter. Any problems should be referred to your Team Manager. Any complaints should be handled in accordance with the Complaints Section of the Office Manual. Any circumstances which might give rise to a negligence claim against the firm should be referred to your Team Manager in accordance with the Risk Management Section of the Office Manual to ensure compliance with the firm's reporting requirements to its professional indemnity insurers. Accounting and Time Recording To operate the firm's office and client accounts in accordance with the Accounting and Billing Procedures Section of the Office Manual, using the forms and procedures set out in that section, including time recording of your work.Case ManagementTo act at all times in the client's best interests remaining independent and free from external pressure, keeping client matters confidential and following the procedures set out. You must follow the procedures set out in the File Opening, File Closing and File Maintenance Sections of the Office Manual. Correspondence and Documents To produce routine documents yourself using the firmıs Case Management system, and dictating more complex documents. Telephone CallsTo follow the Telephone Protocol as set out in the Office Manual, striving to ensure that client calls received before 4pm are returned on the same day. Client Appointments and Other Meetings To ensure that your presentation and appearance are suitable for a solicitorıs office and use your best endeavours to ensure that clients and other are seen at the appointed time without being kept waiting.Accreditation RequirementsEnsuring constant compliance with Lexcel and IIP standards and also health and safety requirements. Marketing To assist with the marketing of your Team and of the firm. Administration To manage the day to day administration arising from your role including attending team meetings as requested by your Team Manager. Training To identify and meet your job related training and development needs. Review This job description will be reviewed at your Personal Development Review three months after commencement of employment and thereafter at each annual Personal Development Review and otherwise periodically.
